Professor Nicolas Guichon, of the Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France), is visiting us at CRLI for the first half of 2019
CRLI would like to welcome Professor Nicolas Guichon, of the Université Lumière Lyon 2 (France), who is paying a 6 month visit at the University of Sydney in Australia for the first half of 2019. He will be hosted as a visiting scholar at the centre and his work on technology mediated language learning and multimodality is of interest to many of our researchers.
Nicolas has been working on technology mediated language learning and multimodality and has published widely on these two subjects His research interests broadly include in-class use of technology by teachers, out-of-class informal use of digital devices by learners, and online distance teaching. In recent years, Professor Guichon has worked on the geographies of learning and has focused on international students’ usage of digital tools and mobile apps in order to understand what role they play in the transition to their new academic environments and what learning opportunities they provide.
During this visit he will be participating in various research events and groups at the Centre and within the University. This visit will involve research collaboration and discussion, as well as attending team and project meetings, and consultations with staff and students. He will give a seminar at some point and we will update our events when we have the details. If you would like to contact Nicolas, mail us at CRLI.firstname.lastname@example.org and we can put you in touch.
