Interested in getting hands-on with augmented and virtual reality? Want to explore the use of the Immersive Learning Lab or learn how to go from nothing to an immersive VR experience in under 30 minutes? Here's your chance to hear from how the different researchers at the University are approaching eXtended Reality (XR) curriculum and pedagogies, and explore the practical role of augmented and virtual reality in higher education.

Join us on Aug 1 for the Centre for Research on Learning and Innovation (CRLI) Innovative Technologies @USyd Showcase, as part of the University's Innovation Week.

Our program for the day is being finalised but you can expect demos and drop-in exhibition of innovative learning technologies, including live coding of VR experiences and data visualisation.Beeple illustration: Using VR

This event is open and relevant to everyone at the University – all you need is some interest! It will be particularly useful for teacher-practitioners and researchers interested in information and data visualisation as well as XR curriculum and pedagogies in higher education. We have presenters lined up from over 5 different disciplines; all with the goal of showcasing and demonstrating how some of the University's recent innovative research and technologies are working towards providing excellence in education and teaching. This event is both hands-on with demos and information rich with a showcase presentation and Q&A around the “real world” uses, issues around, and application of these technologies.

Demo pods will run from 2.30-4.00pm as an Innovative technologies @USyd drop-in space, followed by showcase presentations and Q&A session from 4.00-5.00pm.
