This theme explored knowledge practices in learning analytics. The abundance of data derived from technology mediation of interactions in a learning experience requires instructors to analyse and transform data into knowledge. The theme studied how knowledge about learning experiences is created when instructors are exposed to different data representations.
This theme was led by Kathryn Bartimote-Aufflick, Abelardo Pardo, Kalina Yacef, Irena Koprinska, and Philip Poronnik. Prof Bill Penuel, University of Colorado Boulder, facilitated a workshop on Design-based implementation research in education.
